Welcome to the website of the research group Medical Imaging and Signal Processing (MEDISIP)
MEDISIP is the research group of the department of Electronics and Information systems (ELIS) of the faculty of Engineering (FIRW) at the Ghent University (UGent).
MEDISIP conducts research mainly in the field of digital signal and image processing, mainly for medical purposes. Some examples are:
- Image reconstruction of PET and SPECT scanners
- Modelling and simulation studies of PET and SPECT scanners using GATE
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MR) and design of gradient sequences
- White matter fibre tracking using diffusion tensor images
- Biomedical signal processing of electroencaphalographies (EEGs), event-related potentials (ERPs) and electrocardiography (ECGs)
MEDISIP is a partner of the Institute for Broadband Technology (IBBT) and works closely together with the following research groups:
- "Image Processing and Interpretion" (IPI, president: Prof. Wilfried Philips)
- "Quantitative MRI research group " (QMRI, head: Prof. Yves De Deene)
